The Ninth South School on Internet Governance (SSIG 2017) will take place on April 3-7, 2017, at FGV Fundação Getulio Vargas in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Call for participants to the 2017 SSIG will be open until January 15, 2017.
The main objective of the South School of Internet Governance is to train the future leaders of Internet Governance in all aspects related to it, from a global perspective, with a focus on Latin America and the Caribbean.
Over five days of intensive training, participants will learn how the Internet is governed, with a special focus on the sustainable development goals and also on freedom of expression, cybersecurity, digital economy, the role of ICANN, the role of IETF, the Internet Governance Forum IGF, legal aspects of security and privacy, SMEs and e-commerce, new business opportunities, new technology challenges, digital content challenges, the digital divide and its implications, among other issues.
The FGV Fundação Getulio Vargas and CCAT-LAT are pleased to offer two types of fellowships:
1-Fellowships that include registration, lodging and partial meals. Beneficiaries of these grants will be responsible for covering the costs of air travel and other incidental expenses.
2-Fellowships that include only registration and participation in this activity. Beneficiaries of this grant will be responsible for covering the costs of air transportation, lodging and other incidental expenses.
